All-Star Game to Include Fireworks Show!
Updated:  02/08/2010 at 2:34 PM
White Plains & Wappingers Falls, NY -- After 16 seasons the WRWBL All-Star Game is getting a major upgrade -- including a professionally produced post game fireworks show!  Traditionally a Sunday event, the All-Star Game now moves to a primetime spot on Saturday night August 21, 2010 and will be played at Dutchess County Stadium. The game will showcase the best players in the WRWBL and will be open to  Renegades season ticket holders and general admission fans!

The Renegades will be promoting the WRWBL All-Star Game throughout their regular season including in the club’s annual program, over the air during games and on its website. The Renegades will be selling general admission ($6) tickets for the WRWBL All-Star Game and have stated that previous fireworks shows have attracted several thousand attendees.  Players, coaches and families associated with WRWBL teams will not be charged admission provided they pre-register here at WRWBL.com.  Registration will open in a few weeks.

The All-Star Game will have plenty of exciting elements including:
  • Post Game Fireworks -- As part of the All-Star Game fesitivities the WRWBL will put on a 10-minute professionally produced fireworks show capping the 2010 season in style!
  • On-field Awards Presentation -- Between innings the league's top awards will be presented before fans including the league’s 2010 Championship Cup, as well as the league MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year and Manager of the Year awards.  Award winners will be presented by commissioner Dan Heavens.
  • Players Only Clubhouse Access -- Players selected to compete in the All-Star Game will receive the full ‘big league’ treatment throughout the day.  All--Stars will have access to the Renegades private visitors clubhouse for pre-game warm-ups, will have their photos taken for the Renegades digital scoreboard during the game and they will have a private buffet meal in the clubhouse during post-game activities.
  • Home Run Derby -- In conjunction with the All-Star Game the Renegades will be hosting their annual charity fundraiser with a homerun derby.  All WRWBL players and fans will be able to participate in this event with a chance to win various prizes.  Registration for this event includes a separate fee payable at the game.  All proceeds go to the Renegades children's charity.
  • Children's Fun -- Players and fans are not the only ones included in the fun! The Renegades will be opening their playpark for WRWBL children! Bounce castles and small rides will be available and staffed in a safe and secure environment giving even the littlest of WRWBL fans a chance to join the fun!

Private All-Star Game Family Picnic

Entering its 17th season the league's free All-Star Game Family Picnic will continue but in a new way! The picnic will now begin before the All-Star Game at approximately 3:00pm.   Players, coaches, their families and friends will all have access to the Renegades outdoor party deck on the rightfield line for a private party including food and fun, as well as presentation of the league’s many other awards.   Due to catering and space limitations the picnic will require a pre-registration sign-up for all guests here on WRWBL.com. Details on registration will be announced at a later date.  Players and families who DO NOT pre-register are still welcomed to attend but will be charged $10 entry at the door. So make sure you register and continue to enjoy our free picnic.  After the picnic settle into a stadium seat and enjoy the 17th WRWBL All-Star Game and enjoy the post game fireworks closing out the season.
